Our Mission and Vision

Our Mission: To foster collaborations across the global Jesuit network that will benefit poor communities

Jesuits and their lay colleagues are blessed with one of the world's most extensive, expert education and social service networks. You'll find Jesuit-administered universities, high schools, and refugee centers, churches, vocational training, or poverty eradication programs in more than 100 countries!

We will tap the power of the internet in order to help this extraordinary network to realize its shared potential. At this moment, for example, teams from multiple Jesuit universities are collaborating with the Jesuit Refugee Service to pioneer an online, higher education program for refugee camp residents in Africa and elsewhere--one example of the innovative collaborations that are possible.

Our Vision: "The World Becomes Our Home..."

A sixteenth century Jesuit, Fr. Jerome Nadal, first used the phrase that "the whole world becomes our home." He has inspired our vision. We envision a world that one day will truly be "a home" for all those who today lack the education, resources, or hope that will enable them to live in full dignity. And we envision a global Jesuit network of alumni, students, parishioners, and others who believe that their neighbor is not only the person who lives next door, but anyone in need throughout the world.

We welcome all visitors of every spiritual traditions, and will happily host every discussion, network, collaboration, or idea exchange that can benefit poor communities and lead to a more just world.
